Freedom Worth Celebrating

July is a month that calls us to celebrate freedom—not just as a nation, but as individuals. As we gather for Independence Day, enjoying fireworks, cookouts, and time with loved ones, we’re reminded of the sacrifices made for our liberty. At Rise Up Recovery, we also pause to honor the freedom found in recovery—freedom from addiction, shame, fear, and hopelessness.

For many, recovery is a journey from bondage to breakthrough. It’s a daily choice to walk in truth, healing, and purpose. This kind of freedom is received through grace, and it changes everything.

As Galatians 5:1 says:

“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”

Freedom in Recovery

At Rise Up Recovery, we see freedom lived out every day:

  • Parents reconnecting with their children after years of separation.

  • A man or woman who chooses recovery over relapse, one hard day at a time.

  • In someone walking back into the same community where they once struggled, now offering hope to others.

This is the kind of freedom worth celebrating—not just once a year, but every day a person says “yes” to healing.

Summer at Rise Up Recovery

Summer is a beautiful season of growth and connection in our community. From sober BBQs and bonfires to outdoor recovery meetings and housing program milestones, we are watching lives flourish in ways only possible through God's grace and the power of community.

As you celebrate this Independence Day, we invite you to reflect on the deeper freedom we have in Christ.

“Out of my distress I called on the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free.” – Psalm 118:5

We celebrate with all who are discovering what it means to truly live in freedom. Whether you are in recovery, supporting someone on their journey, or seeking a new beginning, know this: freedom is possible, hope is alive, and you are not alone.

With gratitude,

The Rise Up Recovery Team

Redeeming Lives; Restoring Dignity.
